Great little motel in an excellent location walkable to much of the sights in Chicago or nearby el stops. Room was clean and beds were surprisingly comfy. Only downside is AC and heat are controlled by front desk, but they are generally responsive. This is our second time staying here- would come back.

The room we had was on the small side but was just enough for us, as we were outside most of the day. The location is perfect, and we were able to walk to most places we wanted to visit. There’s a Target and lots of restaurants within a few feet literally. We always felt very safe in this area. I’m so glad I booked a room downtown because parking gets expensive. I had no idea. It was also easy to drive to places that were too far to walk. The staff and manager were kind, and even sent me a text our first afternoon to make sure we were content. I’ve never had a hotel/motel do that!! If I ever go back to Chicago, this is where I’ll stay!

We had an excellent stay at Ohio House Motel in downtown Chicago. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. They went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met, which made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very clean. The location is outstanding—right in downtown Chicago with easy access to restaurants, attractions, shopping, and public transportation. We truly appreciated the great service, clean accommodations, and convenient location. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Ohio House Motel to anyone visiting Chicago!

Most of my life I've driven past the Ohio House Motel on my way into Chicago. After all these years I finally got to stay there and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Unfortunately the balcony rooms were not available but I found our room clean, modern, comfortable, pleasant smelling and exactly what we were hoping for. At the Ohio House, you are in the middle of everything! Everything seemed like a short walk or a 10 minute cab ride anywhere. The 24 hour McDonalds right across the street was a life saver at 4:30am, seeing that we went to Chicago for the WNBA All Star Game and festivities afterward. We cabbed it to the United Center and we were there in 15 minutes. We cabbed it to some bars, 10 minute Uber ride. It was perfect. Check in and Check out were also a breeze. We did pay for parking which is nice because you can come and go as you please, but we were drinking so our car stayed in the lot and nothing happened to it. In the morning a little Cafe/Deli opens and the bagels and Matzo ball soup were amazing! The one thing people mention is not having a thermostat in your room. Ok, kinda a bummer but the room was at the perfect temp while it was 95 degrees outside. So, yea it could be a negative but in reality does it really matter? I think if you've grown up around the city of Chicago, you deserve it to yourself to stay at the Ohio House at least once.

Wonderful and affordable. Rooms are clean and all basic necessities are provided: iron, hairdryer, fridge, microwave, safe lock for valuables, tv, complimentary coffee station in your room. Bathrooms were stocked with towels, soap, shampoo but they did not provide us with toothpaste so had to make a quick trip to walgreens for that. But it was just a 5 min walk from the hotel. There’s also a target nearby! Staff was very friendly and respectful. We were 2 female travelers and felt safe and comfortable

So glad we chose Ohio House for our Chitown stay. We were visiting for the taste of Chicago and this room was really affordable. I was scared it would be run down but it was very clean with no weird scent. The beds were so soft and comfortable. The shower water was hot. There is a lot of food around and a deli located on the property. We did have to pay $52 a night for parking which was pretty high but that’s everywhere in Chicago. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I requested first floor room during check in and they were able to oblige my request. Overall a very great hotel located downtown and we will be staying there again the next time we visit.

What a gem! Price is what brought us here but we could not have been more pleased with the room, location, and staff! We loved the retro vibe of the motel and the room, and our room was spotless, super comfy bed, and fantastic shower head! The location put us right in the middle of all the things we wanted to do, and had quick access to both the bus and train routes. The staff was the cherry on top-- so accommodating! I had reserved our room through Booking.com and there was a mix-up with the room size. Ohio House didn't have any rooms to switch us to, but they have worked with Booking.com to get us a refund for the difference which they certainly didn't have to do. They also made great recommendations for restaurants nearby. We will definitely recommend this hidden gem to others!
